Rafael Vargas Bernal was born in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico, in 1972. He received the B.E. degree in electronics engineering from the Universidad de Guanajuato in 1995, and the M.Sc. and Dr. Sc. degrees in electronic engineering from INAOE, Tonantzintla, Puebla, Mexico, in 1997 and 2000, respectively. Since 2002, he is an Associate Professor in the Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Irapuato. He is author of 17 chapters in books, 8 papers in international journals, and more than 100 articles in congresses. His research interests include nanomaterials, aerospace materials, and composite materials. He is reviewer in the journals: Nanoscale, RSC Advances, Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, Materials Science and Engineering B, IEEE Sensors Journal. He is member of the Science and Technology Network of the Space and National Network of Aeronautics, both of the National Council for Science and technology (CONACYT).
